Job Description

RESPONSIBILITIES / KEY ACTIVITIES:

Incoming Material Inspection & Testing

  • Perform sampling, analysis including sensory, and verification of all incoming commodity, raw and packaging materials to ensure conformance with specifications.
  • Perform block and release activities in SAP for incoming materials.
  • Perform entry data and analysis the incoming materials into Power BI.
  • Conduct incoming inspections, including attaching raw material sampling stickers to sampled materials as per the defined sampling plan and AQL requirements.
  • Perform sampling, analysis and verification to the new materials and highlight any non-conformance.
  • Arrange and manage retention samples for all incoming materials for traceability and shelf-life reference.
  • Report and update any non-conforming materials detected during inspection immediately to relevant personnel and attach block or reject stickers as required.
  • Conduct additional testing for shelf-life extension of materials when required.
  • Assist in block and release of incoming materials in physical stocks.
  • Participate in sensory evaluations with R&D for product development when necessary.
  • Ensure allergen stickers are properly attached to allergen raw materials before materials are sent to production.

Documentation & Reporting

  • Maintain accurate documentation for all incoming materials, including sampling records and test results.
  • Verify and compile Quality Control Records for traceability and audit readiness.
  • Record test results promptly and ensure entries are complete, accurate, and compliant with internal and regulatory standards.
  • Attend daily OPS Quality meetings and provide updates on incoming status, inspection findings and non-conformance trends.
  • Support documentation updates (e.g., Work Instructions, SOPs) as assigned by the Quality Engineer/Analyst.

Equipment & Calibration Management

  • Operate, maintain, and calibrate laboratory equipment to ensure testing accuracy.
  • Perform and maintain in-house calibration for inspection and laboratory equipment and support external vendor calibration when required.
  • Monitor equipment performance, report malfunctions or out-of-tolerance conditions, and initiate corrective actions.
  • Maintain calibration records for internal verification and audit purposes.
  • Keeps measurement equipment operating by following operating instructions.
  • Participate in Proficiency test organized by Internal Quality team.

Compliance & GMP

  • Conduct warehouse inspections to verify cleanliness, GMP practices, pest control effectiveness, and compliance with company standards.
  • Ensure all incoming inspections and storage practices comply.
  • Participate in internal/external audits when required by providing records and demonstrating inspection procedures.
  • Conduct routine GMP and sanitation checks; raise feedback on potential risks.

Laboratory Housekeeping & 5S

  • Conduct 5S activities and housekeeping in the quality laboratory to maintain a clean, safe, and audit-ready environment.
  • Ensure consumables are in sufficient stock and properly stored.

Cross-Functional Support

  • Assist Quality Analyst/Engineer in investigations, projects, or other assigned tasks.
  • Provide support in quality-related administrative tasks, including preparation of supplier performance data and reports.
  • Assist in audit preparation and provide required records.

Food Safety & Quality Culture

  • Promote FSQ activities (campaigns, awareness sessions, workshops) to strengthen plant culture.
  • Support activities to enhance food safety and quality awareness.

Other Responsibilities

  • Participate in and conduct PVP as per the established schedule and highlight if there is any comment from the other stakeholder.
  • Be a backup for quality technician when manpower is insufficient or during absence, ensuring continuity of quality checks and verifications.
  • Perform any other duties that may be assigned from time to time by Superior and Management
  • Sharing job knowledge with each other team member.
  • Quality personnel will assume the responsibility as per scope assign.
  • Quality personnel are to support organizational ad hoc tasks as necessary.
  • Quality personnel have the authority to stop the line when there is food safety and quality issue when necessary

Qualifications

Here's what we're looking for: 

  • Academic Program: Diploma or Degree in Food Technology, Food Science, Chemistry, Engineering or relevant vocational experience;
  • Experienced: Minimum 2–3 years working experience in quality assurance or quality control within a manufacturing or production environment.
  • Skillset
  • Familiarity with ISO standards (e.g., ISO 9001) and quality systems.
  • Understanding of root cause analysis, problem-solving techniques, and continuous improvement tools (e.g., 5S, Kaizen).
  • Experience in reporting and documentation of quality issues.
  • Basic knowledge of statistical process control (SPC) and quality audits.
  • Personal traits: You have a structured approach, a driven and energetic personality, excellent communication and people skills, and the ability to work both in a team and independently.
