Utility Engineer
Job Description
- Good understanding of local legislation and regulation and international standards
- Maintain and uphold the requirements of the applicable company standards.
- Develop and maintain documentation, e.g. procedures, work instruction.
- Keep and review the necessary documentation related to utility operations for the purposes of internal and external control.
- To optimize maintenance, electricity, chemical and treatment, and disposal costs;
- To Evaluate current Utility for cost-effectiveness and recommend capital or operational process improvement;
- Provides technical and design support in Utilities equipment and HVAC system;
- Manage the plant's demand for production utilities including electricity, natural gas, steam, water, wastewater treatment, compressed air, chiller, AHU, cooling water, and chemical treatment facilities (water/softener) to ensure the continuity of production;
- Provide support to shift team to ensure the smoothness of Utilities operation;
- Perform continuous improvement for Utilities operation;
- Organize the identification & troubleshooting of current failures and repairs in the plant with Maintenance Team;
- Managed and organize on chemicals or resources inventory required for utility operation;
- Manage utility process equipment or machineries to be in a good condition;
- Manage and ensure compliance of Industrial Effluent Treatment System (IETS) & Sewage treatment plant (STP);
- Assist any authority officer in carrying out his/her duty;
- To oversee the operation of Utilities equipment and WWTP operation as per requirements;
- To assist in WWTP performance monitoring following DOE requirements for both Physical-Chemical and Biological Processes;
- Optimize the Utilities equipment and WWTP efficiency & ensure smooth operation;
- Train and coach new employees;
- Other duties as assigned by immediate superior.
Qualifications
Education: Diploma / Degree in Engineering or equivalent.
Experience:
- At least 3 to 5 years working experience in Boiler / Ammonia Plant /maintenance will be an added value.
- Good interpersonal and oral communication skills.
- Computer literate.
- Good oral and written proficiency in English and Bahasa Malaysia. Ability to speak other languages will be an added advantage.
