We're looking for an assistant Business Controller Intern to strengthen our Finance team in Brussels. You will play an active role in supporting the Business Controller activities. This will give you insights on the full P&L and key performance indicators of our business.
You are responsible for the bridge between our finance department and our operational business. You do this by helping to refresh, set up and improve reports based on various data sources. Administration is also part of the job.

Your main responsibilities will be divided in three buckets:

Reporting

  • Update, maintain & distribute, on time and in full, current reports in place (eg. P&L report, daily sales report, Topline Dashboard, …).
  • Be responsible to update Marketing Budget, highlight the discrepancies vs plan and share it to the relevant stakeholders.
  • Be responsible to update the COGS reports, highlight the discrepancies vs plan and share it to the relevant stakeholders.
  • Support in setting-up new reports and/or improve current reports.
  • Perform ad hoc analysis at the request of an internal and/or external stakeholder.
  • Proactively formulate improvement proposals to make our business work more efficiently
  • Work on master data cleaning & maintenance.
  • You will work closely together with the other internal departments like Sales, Marketing and operations.

Internal & External Control

  • Perform, on time and in full, quarterly and monthly internal controls.
  • Flag inconsistencies when performing those and propose corrective actions.
  • Assist in compiling information and preparing responses to auditors during the annual external audit.

Administration

  • Play an active role in the deal approval process validation.
  • Create and update work instructions
  • Propose a structured way to gather our financial information & find it easily back; clean-up actual, propose new, implement and maintain.

Qualifications

  • You are an enthusiastic student with a matching educational business background, and preferably a finance and/or business intelligence passionate.
  • You are a team player with strong communication & analytical skills.
  • You work pro-actively, take ownership of your own projects and deadlines, and are result driven.
  • You are passionate about the coffee & tea business, interested in different perspectives of the business.
  • You are Dutch and/or French speaking and fluent in English.
  • Your internship is a mandatory part of your studies
  •  You’re available from September/October OR January/February for 6 months
